Customer Interviews No. 3

In my third round of interviews, I was generally asking everyone what their reaction was to my overall business idea. I wanted a genuine reaction from students who live in a college town and ride scooters. I spoke with five students who are currently taking classes and living in the Gainesville college town area. After I gave the interviewee a paper that had a brief description of my business concept, I simply asked him or her what his or her reaction was. I ensure that these were people who would give me an honest opinion, and they were all people who had never heard of my concept before.

Overall, I think that people were mostly supportive of the idea. One person in particular that I interviewed doubted that offering a customizable helmet would incentivize people to purchase one. He remarked that the biggest issue is the size of the helmet, and the fact that no one wants to wear a helmet or carry it around. This made me question whether or not there was something that I could do in order to address this issue, but for the most part students were supportive of my idea. Almost everyone agreed that it was a good idea, and that it would really make a difference to people who should be wearing a helmet. These interviews did make me think about whether or not I could figure out a way to make the helmets smaller or allow them to come with a clip mechanism that can secure it to the scooter when students go to class. Other than this reconsideration, I am mostly still confident with my business concept. I really appreciated the feedback from everyone who agreed to let me interview them.

  1. Hey Wallace,

After watching your interviews, I think that most of them did support your idea. I think that you would definitely have to consider the size and a way to make it easier to carry or secure it to the scooter, like you said. I think that it is a great idea and that you have a pretty large pool of customers since a lot of UF students use scooters. 2. I think your business idea is good but if you really want to make it grow I would start to ask more specific questions. I think it would be wise to ask them what they think is bad about the product and work on improving that as well as asking what parts of the product are really amazing and stand out. That way you can cover your weaknesses and really emphasize the strengths of the product. Here’s a link to my blog if you want to check it out.
