Personally,
I think I am good at learning from others by listening and paying attention to
what they say or recommend. When someone is instructing me on how to do
something or giving advice based off on past experiences, I think I absorb that
information easily and utilize it. I also think that I am good at getting along
with multiple different types of people, and that helps me learn a lot about
how people feel and think. Another unique ability I think I have is that I am
very good at learning from my mistakes and accepting when I have done something
wrong. I understand that we all make mistakes, and sometimes we just have to
come to grips with the fact that we are wrong and learn from it. Also, I think
that I am very good at thinking about things rationally, and this helps me make
hard or emotional decisions. Finally, I would like to think that I am mature. I
believe that life experiences help us mature, and I think that I can be very
mature.
- I really appreciated that my friend said that she thinks that I am caring because I believe that I can come off as dry. I think that I should work on being more caring towards each person I meet because that is a very important trait.
- I really appreciated the comment about me being direct and honest with people. I think that as a businessperson, that is an extremely important trait to have.
- I definitely believe that being able to have conversations with different people is really valuable for anyone in a professional setting. First impressions are extremely important, and I really value that ability.
- Any person who is assigned a task or job should be able to research that job prior to attempting it. I really think that is a good thing for someone to be able to do a lot of research before attempting to accomplish certain jobs or assignments.
- I really think that confidence and the ability to be outgoing go a far way in any business setting. I would encourage anyone to try as hard as they can to be outgoing and confident in social situations.
Overall, I really appreciate and
value everything that my friends said that they feel about me as a person. I
think that there are some traits that they said that I have that I am not so
confident about, but I will work on those for the future. I do agree with some
of the thinks that my interviewees said about me. I would definitely make a few
changes to my list from the beginning. I would add to my list that I believe
that I can be very direct and straight-forward with people because I do believe
that is true. Also, I would add that I am good at having a conversation with
almost anyone I meet, and I think that contributes to how I can get along with different
types of people.
I really enjoyed watching and reading your blog post. I thought it was interesting that you asked your friends to talk about you as opposed to a lot of people that went straight to their families. It is so interesting to see your friends perspective. I also really like your reaction as well.

It was definitely nice to see that some of the insight you got (such as being direct and straightforward) was surprising to you, which can give a bit of a refresher and more insight into how you are as a person. Like you said, those traits would be good to have in some circumstances in the business world. Overall, great job!
